College News 12th October 2018

Headteachers message - End of half term message

The first half term is over and we already are looking forward to our our next half term up to Christmas! This coming half term will be the longest ever I've known in 20 years of education - lasting 9 weeks! That's one of the reasons we moved our INSET day to the last day of term so that students could get a well earned rest before Christmas - so please don't forget that our Autumn term finishes on Thursday 20th December at 1.30pm.

We start our next half term with a Parental Engagement Evening on 23rd October followed by our Sixth Form Open Evening on Thursday 25th October; so we'll be off to a flying start! We hope our Sixth Form evening will be as successful as our Year 7 evening and look forward to welcoming all from Lutterworth and its surrounding communities to come and experience our school's flagship feature.

This will be followed up by our service of remembrance on Friday 9th November in the school grounds. This service is an amazing part of the school's legacy as we pay tribute to all those who gave their lives in both world wars and recent conflicts but especially to those former students of this school that did so. It will have added poignancy as we mark the 100 year centenary of the end of world war one.

Have a great half term

Nick Summers
