Performing Arts and Cultural Trip to New York City
Over February half term, 23 students and 4 members of staff from the PE and Creative Arts Faculty, embarked on an action-packed trip to New York City. The trip involved, theatre visits, 2 Workshops with Broadway professionals, lots of sightseeing, lots of shopping and LOTS of amazing food, an impromptu visit to Madame Tussauds, China Town, Staten Island, Lincoln Performing Arts Centre, Central Park and even an 18th Birthday. The trip was packed to the rafters and there literally wasn’t a single moment to stand still. As trip leader, taking so many students to another country miles away from home would always be slightly nerve-wracking, however, I needn’t have worried one bit. The students conducted themselves beautifully for the duration of the whole trip, were consistently mature and overall, and represented the school excellently. The laughter, singing and dancing never stopped and despite walking what felt like a thousand miles every day, not a single grumble was heard. I can honestly say that this trip was a complete success and that was down to the amazing young people and the staff that came along, so a massive thank you to you all and here’s to the next one!
