Year 10 Work Experience Week, 9th - 13th June 2025

WELL DONE to all our Year 10 students out at Work Experience - you did yourselves proud!

Here is a shout out for year 10. Well done for their continued efforts in completing their evidence gathering for English. Fantastic effort! | By Brynteg School | Facebook

Over 230 students were out getting their first taste of the working world, which is fabulous.

Thank you to all the parents and carers who supported with placements themselves and also a huge thank you to the numerous employers who supported with the programme - we are extremely grateful.

We hope it's been a memorable and very enjoyable week for our students, which we were thrilled they were able to do.

Here are some photos of students at work along with some amazing employer feedback:-

"We just wanted to drop you a quick message to let you know how well X got on with us last week. He was an absolute star who worked incredibly hard, and we were very impressed with how quickly he picked up the job. He was polite and courteous to customers, accurate with his order taking and communicated extremely well with his colleagues. He picked the job up quicker than any employee we’ve ever hired, and put some of us to shame who have been doing the job for several years! He is a real credit to the college, and we wish him all the best in his studies and beyond."

"It was a pleasure to have X with us last week.  He is a very polite, respectful and well mannered young man and took an interest in everything he was tasked with."

It was our pleasure to host X last week - she was a real credit to Lutterworth College and brought such enthusiasm and professionalism to her time with us.

"X impressed us enormously. Her research and thoughtful approach showed real architectural thinking. She asked insightful questions, embraced every presentation and workshop, and showed the kind of curiosity and determination that makes for successful architects.  I am sure X will have plenty to share with you and her classmates about her week with us. From site analysis and design development to presentations and routes to qualification, she experienced a genuine taste of architectural practice."

"It was an absolute pleasure having X with me last week.  I wanted to set him a project with something he has an interest in and hopefully carry on with.  While with me we created a new brand of football shinpads.  X had to learn how to use a software called canva and teach himself how to design shinpads using various different techniques. As well as designing the product he worked on building a shopify website as well as looking at social media content for tiktok.  He was an absolute joy to have in the office, never moaned or complained. Cracked on with tasks given to him but asked for help when needed.  I was very impressed with his ability to integrate with other employees in the office. I'm hoping he carries on the design aspect and business understanding of creating something from nothing and the opportunity to be entrepreneurial and trying new things. Not everything is a success but you only get out what you put in!"

"X was fantastic and a pleasure to have."

"X was great to work with, showed a genuine interest in what the team was involved in and got on well with everyone. He seemed to be and was hopefully inspired a little and got a bit of direction as to what industry he would like to be involved in, in the future."

"X works well under instruction and is keen to do a good job.  He is thorough and considered in his approach to tasks.  He knows to ask for help and guidance and can be self-motivated to pick up on jobs that need doing without being asked.  In another year, in the right career/role he will flourish with his work ethic."

"It was a pleasure to have supported X for the week. I hope that he enjoyed his experience and gained an exciting insight into the automotive industry."

"X was a pleasure to have working for me last week. He worked brilliantly all week. He’s listened to instructions very well and worked all day with interest and a willingness to learn. He will be a natural in the construction industry. Especially once he has his wheelbarrow license, which he is very keen to get. We have already discussed future work. Well done"

It was great to see those students who remained in school engaging in core lessons, completing virtual work experience and hearing from guest speakers including Wayfair & Asda. They also got stuck in with the Tyre Challenge Enterprise Day. A huge thank you to all staff who supported.
