Half Term 2: October - December
Year 10
- Write a plot synopsis of the two episodes we have watched: Vigil and The Avengers
Vigil - Series 1: Episode 1 - BBC iPlayer
The Avengers is available to purchase on YouTube – Series 4, Episode 2 (The Gravediggers)
- Create character profiles for the main characters in each episode
- Watch any three minute segment of either show and make notes on camera, sound, editing and mise-en-scene
Year 11
- Create a plan for your magazine front cover and/or double page spread. You are making a lifestyle magazine aimed at a style-conscious audience
- Write your article for your double page spread
- Revise the different elements of mise-en-scene

This term we will be learing about the Radio 1 Live Lounge and Mojo magazine.
- Visit the websites for these two companies and make notes on layout, representation and appeal to audience.
- Watch a few clips of the Live Lounge on YouTube or on their own website. Make notes on appeal to audience and how this clip fulfils the requirements of Public Service Broadcasting.
- Create your own magazine front cover for a music magazine.
- Make a set of revision cards for Media Language terminology related to news.
Year 11
We are now revising for the final exams.
- Practise exam questions.
- Watch Vigil of The Avengers and make notes on Media language in a 3-4 minute length clip.
- Visit The Observer/Guardian newspaper website and read one of the articles, jotting down who, what, why, where and when the events in the article happened
- Watch the ad break/trailer for The Lego Movie and make notes on genre, narrative and intertextuality.

Half Term 6: June - July
Year 9
This term we are working on radio. Use this lesson to research radio stations – commercial or BBC. Look at:
- What shows are on today
- The playlists
- How audiences can interact with the website
Write up your findings.
Alternatively, design a schedule for a new radio station: what will you play, who will present, who is your target audience, etc.?
Create your own advert for any radio station (existing or fictional).

This term you are going to be developing your Photoshop skills. From what you can remember about Photoshop already, create a help sheet about the program for a beginner.
